HELLO

I am Mark and

IS IT ME OR IS IT THEM?

A memoir about the patterns we inherit, the roles we didn't choose, and the long road back to yourself.

Do you find yourself always being the one who carries? The one who keeps the peace, earns love, and never quite feels like it’s enough?

Is It Me or Is It Them? is the story of one man’s journey through family, identity, and the slow realisation that the rules he lived by were never truly his own.

Written with honesty and without self-pity, it is a memoir about what it means to stop chasing approval — and begin the long journey back to yourself.

Is It Me Or Is It Them? is available in print and digital from 01.07.26

"I spent most of my life being the one who carried."

About Mark Borrington

Mark Borrington spent much of his life being the one who carried. The good son. The capable one. The person who kept things steady, asked for little, and quietly wondered whether he would ever feel like enough.

He has worked as a paramedic, in organisational transformation, and as a trustee in the charitable sector. But it was not those roles that led him to write this book. It was the slower, harder work of understanding where those roles came from in the first place.

Is It Me or Is It Them? is his first book — a memoir written with honesty, reflection, and without self-pity. It is the account of a man who spent decades adapting to the world around him, and what happened when he finally stopped.

Mark lives in the UK and writes about identity, family, healing, and the long journey back to yourself.
